Ferrari 488 GTE - Interested?
#1
I haven't even asked our fearless leader Wink yet; I want to ask the SRS community first. Would there be any interest in running a 60-min 100%/100% series in the new Ferrari 488 GTE mod next season or shortly thereafter? It's currently only v0.2, but don't let that scare you; it's a fully-developed car mod. The only reason for the pre-1.0 version number is that I'm still evaluating the balance of performance against other GTE cars. (My hope is that, eventually, it could be part of a full GTLM field, without additional BoP.) But a one-make series with just this car wouldn't have any problems with that.

I guess that's the car that will be used for the Ferrari Hublot e-series set to run next month?

If so, it might be fun to shadow that series at SRS using this car and the same tracks that series is running. As it happens, that series will be using 6 different tracks after the quali rounds in September.

So if this car is run in the SRS October season, it could shadow their championship very closely as their races are set for Sunday night in Europe according to their schedule: LINK: *** https://esports-registration.ferrari.com/regulation/ ***

That would mean these races, assuming a Monday night race slot for the Americas;
Oct 15 - Monza
Oct 12 - Zandvoort
Oct 19 - Nurburgring GP
Oct 26 - Spa
Nov 2 - Mugello
Nov 9 - Nordschleife

It might draw some of the competitors from that series, or maybe those who failed to qualify but who were brave enough to try. Could make for a large, strong grid and good racing.

It is not, in fact, the 488 Challenge that was released by Ferrari last week.
It is a tune of the GT3 to conform to WEC GTE / IMSA GTLM specification.
It happens to have been made by yours truly.
Click me, for I am a link that takes you to the mod page.

Cool didn't realize you're a modder, though you only did skins. Figured you were just helping out with the BOP and skins or or whatever.
Still, good timing alongside the 488 GTE that Ferrari made for their series if you're interested in mirroring it.
Otherwise I'm sure the car will end up being used in a series one way or another, subject to our fearless leader's approval.

I must be the biggest idiot on the planet. I can't get the car to work properly.

I believe I followed the VERY SIMPLE instructions on how to extract and drop into the content folder then execute the script.

When looking at the car in the selection window, I have the Orange warning triangle, and get the "Fix Car" button on my "Drive" page. "tyres.ini is wrong" and is unable to be fixed... any advice? I'm probably the only person who cant follow 3 simple steps.

Do you have the Red Pack DLC? Without it, the car won't work.
