Official 1 hour practice sessions + team championships
#1
Question
Two suggestions:
First one is probably easy (easier) to implement. Have an official 1 hour practice session that drivers can sign up for before every race. Would be useful for a lot of new drivers as well. Learn the track before a race, observe other drivers, maybe ask for advice in chat. No need to stay the entire hour - join/leave anytime within the 1 hour time slot. The sign up button can be placed next to the race registration - easy to find. And show how many are currently in practice.

The second suggestion is probably not something that can be added easily, but would be fun. In addition to the normal championship, have a team championship. There are quite a few drivers that drive in "teams". You would have to sign up your team before the championship starts, specifying how many cars and who is in your team. Then the average of the weekly best result for each team member is used for the team championship. So if there are 3 drivers in your team, and the best results are ex. 102, 95, 87 - then the average for that week would be (102+95+87) ÷ 3 = 94.7   . So it doesn't matter how many drivers are in your team, as it's always the average that is used. No idea if anyone would be interested in this, and no idea if it's even possible. Nice nice

For the first suggestion thanks to GT Panama and Slobros we actually have practice server.
They run almost 24/7 or few days before the race.
But yeah, some button/link to find their server will be nice. and since it was public server, sometime we can encounter driver that not from srs.

Server keyword: SRS

And at the end of the championship, the slow teammate will not race, so as not to affect the points. If the team fight for championship.. Average points is not a good idea.

But i like the idea of a team score championship.

Handy, thanks for posting that info Smile
For more "official" practice, maybe SRS can just extend the current 5 minutes free practice before the race to a full hour, but leave registration open until qualifying starts. Then it's all part of one session, participation numbers will reflect # of drivers signed up for the event.

Alexey, what I meant, the highest results for EVERY teammate is calculated at the end of each week, so each driver would still prefer to get high points every week. If one team member doesn't drive in that week, it would count as 0.
ex:
Driver 1 - 102, 102, 88, 72
Driver 2 - 99, 92
Driver 3 - 87, 66, 95, 92
Driver 4 - no race

average of highest scores = 102 (driver 1) + 99 (driver 2) + 95 (driver 3) + 0 (driver 4) ÷ 4
