RE: Audi TT Spa - Mark Grant - 03-24-2018 Yes, there are some idiotic antics at every race, but that's the nature of online multiplayer I guess. I would make more of a fuss about it if I was paying to use SRS, but then the enjoyment would be spoilt because there will be a case for a protest in every race, based on my (very limited) experience. I did the 3-month reduced rate iRacing offer, and there is a MASSIVE difference in driving standards between iRacing and the few races I have done here. The expense of iRacing I guess means the susbcribers take it all a bit more seriously (quite rightly) and the idiots aren't going to pay all that money when they can be idiots for free elsewhere. I did a TT Spa race earlier today and was hit and passed because of that hit three times. If you don't get an apology PM from whoever that was in the next 24 hours, I think you record a replay of it and report them. I know I don't want to be on the track with this type of behavior. Ah... I think the general vernacular of the term "tryhard" is someone who takes something very seriously, as opposed to casually. It is usually meant as being derogatory, but I self-identify as a tryhard in pretty much every game I play. And I certainly don't drive like that. RE: Audi TT Spa - Phil Stubbs - 03-24-2018 Russell, I don't disagree but maybe we're coming from different points of view here... from Wiktionary: Noun tryhard (plural tryhards) (derogatory) A person usually of little talent who tries hard to succeed, especially through imitation, usually to gain fame or popularity. So "try hard" to get as far up the leaderboard as posible out of t1, 'cos thats what matters, as opposed to having a good race... I'd suggest your attitude is the opposite - as you say you don't drive like that, but take the game reasonably seriously, as it matters to all the other non try-hards, and so you don't go divebombing up the inside of t1 to try and gain a place. I put myself in the same category :-) RE: Audi TT Spa - Pawel Kusmierek - 03-24-2018 (03-24-2018, 11:01 PM)Russell Sobie Wrote: If you don't get an apology PM from whoever that was in the next 24 hours, I think you record a replay of it and report them. Did not wait 24 hrs RE: Audi TT Spa - Michal Janak - 03-24-2018 i diont know what to say and stay polite, another race, starting 6th and ....... after T1 last (23) and with 3 hits, one initial which turm me, another from driver who came slow , see me (i sit on place no moveing) and instead of brake or go from side he hit me directly and throw me to another car , i cant belive what is going on here at Spa, at Rouad America wasn such a big problem, here 95% sure to be hit, I am very angry now, the driving standards felt down last week rapidly RE: Audi TT Spa - Russell Sobie - 03-25-2018 It is Spa, man. You just have to be ultra super cautious turn 1 (and 2 and 3 and 4 and 5) until things get a bit more single file. You should also report anyone doing obviously boneheaded shit, especially at the start of a race. RE: Audi TT Spa - Pierre Caillet - 03-25-2018 I would love to have "tryhards" in the sense you mean Russel.. Unfortunately, I meant it in the sense "I'm gonna gain 5 positions by outbraking everyone in T1 and then keep them by defending like a pig in T2"... I was tentative about it with the first bolded part saying "Whoever has the racing line has the right of way" since literally that isn't really the case. He even goes into a perfect example of why that isn't the case in the very next paragraph! So other than that little bit of confusing "rule of thumb" it's a nice, concise list of good behavior that everyone should aspire to. I especially like the part where he suggests to stop logging onto US servers to avoid rednecks and instead log into EU servers and make new friends. This has worked out fairly well for me! Edit: Hah... Empty Box literally just released a video about this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVN-Re_b4YI&feature=youtu.be |
