My very first SRS race

Barcelona: the catalan circuit has been home of the final GT4 race of the season on Assetto Corsa Competizione.
A tricky track with a mixed set of fast turns and ultra-slow (even slower when I'm at the wheel) hairpins and chicanes.
Honestly, it's not one of my favourite tracks, despite managing to find a decent pace (and an unexpected 2nd place in qualify, with an astonishing time of 1:57:094 which really shocked me).
Congratulations to Rico, who's been incredibly fast and steady, and to all the racers who joined the race. Too bad we were so few and it didn't count for the championship.

Last race of the championship for the Toyota GT86 series: the track is Magione, a small and technical circuit in Umbria, central Italy.
The race started slow: I was feeling a bit unsafe in the traffic and with a lot (probably too much) care I took a very slow line at T1 to stay out of troubles. Everything went smooth for all the racers in the first turns, so I began my recovery.
Honestly, this has been one of the most funny races I joined, because I had a long and very clean fight with Serge Marchal: our lap times were very close and we battled for quite some time, none of us risking too much with aggression or dangerous defensive maneuvres.

If you're interested in the footage of the race from my perspective, here's the link: https://youtu.be/28B_3TcjGmk

This week I unexpectedly but proudly join the Pista e Fichi team, running in the BMW M235i and BTCC championships!
My first race, in the afternoon, has been on the BMW M235i at Nurburgring: after a quiet P12 in qualify, I started the race slow and careful (I'm beginning to think I'm too careful, sometimes), losing me some positions. The figths to recover have been a lot of fun and I thank all the racers battling with me, all of them very clean and respectful.

Joined a race on Nissan Primera this morning. Mixed feelings, I'd say: it's a fun car to drive, but a bit quirky for my current taming skills. Some mistakes and indecisions by my side put myself in a couple dangerous situations that I should have avoided. Found my pace a bit late in the race and wasted a top 10 result that likely was in my reach.

Suggestions and critics are, as always, very welcome!

Second race of the week, yesterday evening, for the BMW M2 series. It's Nurburgring again. A somewhat quiet race, compared to the previous. After a couple mutual spanks with Simone Pinto (nothing too serious, just little late braking mistakes with no terrible consequences), I stabilized my pace, driving a little slower than in race 1.
Everything's giving me some experience, so there always is a bright side, even in less than optimal races.

Hello everyone and happy Easter!
In the morning, I raced for BTCC on a Primera at Silverstone (National). After a race done yesterday, when I choose to be super-careful and reach my target of "zero incidents" (nailed it, but with a reaaaaaaally slow pace), today I tried to push a little more. The starting grid was really small, so there's less chance of incidents (maybe...), and I managed to find a steady but slow pace, keeping a elastic margin on the car following me (between 1 and 2 seconds through the race), until at the very last turn I probably broke too carefully and he bumped me. I don't know how I kept the car inside the track, but sadly he spinned and lost is very deserved position.
Anyway, the footage of the race is here, for the ones interested: https://youtu.be/oG1sFyYrRb4
Happy Easter again!

Most has been a really cool experience, in a way I can say I like the track, how the turns follow each other and, in general, the flow of the lap on the Czech circuit. It's definitely a challenge when you have (or need) to overtake a car that is slowing you a bit, as taking advantage of mistakes (which is almost the only way I can safely overtake an opponent - I still find attack maneuvres a little bit risky and I don't like to ruin races for anyone - not me, not the others) is quite hard, in my opinion, because of how the turns follow each other (it's the good and the bad of Most, for me), making me think going side by side with another racer is a bit unsafe.
Anyway, it's been a nice and clean race and a good experience on one of racing fundamentals: "look for the opportunity and space to overtake your opponent". Besides having been postponed on the subject, I had a lot of fun!
This is the footage of the race, I hope you enjoy it: https://youtu.be/1HzsvxUMLfY
See you next round at Calabogie (another track I know nothing about - for now!)

Back to Competizione this evening, Imola GT4 race was too attractive for me to skip it. This time I drove the Camaro, a very "strange" GT4 honestly, very unique in my opinion, especially for its somewhat longer gears (a lot of turns I comfortably did in 2nd gear on a different car, this Chevy asks for the 1st). Maybe that's me doing something wrong, but lap times are not so different from the ones I do, for instance, with Porsche.
Anyway, first lap of the race was a bit too chaotic and I ended up behind, needing to recover positions against faster drivers. Making less mistakes has been key, today...

It's the last race of the series for GT4, and Spa is a worthy track to end the championship in fashion!
After little practice, I managed to find some comfort on Audi and felt ready to race, even if I'm always scared by Eau Rouge / Raidillon. With good reasons, I'd say: in fact, I managed to avoid a huge crash during first lap, just because I slowed down a lot before the turn (I was probably smelling troubles...). Unluckily, I bumped anyway on a guy in the carnage and made him spin out (sorry, Carlos...).
This is the race I'm going to talk to my nephews about: I overtook Alien Simon Speth. Twice!!! It wasn't really my skill, but that's the part I'm strategically forgetting about in my stories...

Doesn't matter if the other guy messes up, it still counts as an overtake no matter what. Well Done!
