Nope. I'm a VR user and I can't say this is accurate.
As for Ethan's point, it really is awesome. With less grip ppl will learn quick enough. That ppl even in perfect conditions can misbehave won't change. It won't get better or worse when conditions change. That's just a non argument. Ethan may even have a point saying it'll calm people down.

We could just at least try variable conditions in 1 series. Perhaps with a min rating

I could have sworn it was the VR users that complained about the variable time of day, but apparently it was just people that didn't want the sun in their faces on tracks they don't know. At one point the races DID reflect the time of day that the races took place on in the real world with some exclusions for the worst sun angles... but I think that's been disabled for a long while now. That stuff really doesn't bother me all that much, personally, but I'm sure it bugs at least some.

As for things getting worse in changing conditions, that's a perfectly valid argument. I know personally I don't have more than maybe 30-45 minutes to practice a car track combo in most series... and I only do as well as I do because I don't have to deal with unpredictable traction. I have a hard time driving safely during qualification where grip starts at 96% or whatever because my limited practice means I need to figure out where the edge of traction is as fast as possible.

And if I'm flying all over the track, you can bet that the less experienced drivers are going to be impossible to deal with.
