Tatuus Red Bull Ring Corner Limits
#1
I just finished the first race and noticed the fastest guys going WAY off line.
Its like there is a loop hole with the track limits at the track. Is this OK?
I would assume not as we are trying to do somewhat realistic racing.
It basically what this guy is doing and even in his video description he says it is not a legit lap but only going to a WR.

This is a question that keeps coming up with this track every season its used. You'll get your answer in the following threads, but the consensus is that no it is not allowed and it is protestable, especially if they cause an incident by going wide and coming back on track causing a contact (but don't discuss protests here, see the protest section of forum for more info on what to do if you want to make one https://www.simracingsystem.com/forumdisplay.php?fid=34 ).

Thanks for posting those links. I read through them all.

From reading the previous posts, the general consensus is that you can protest it.

I am surprised though that there was no official statement from SRS in any of those posts that it was against the rules.

Well the guy in the video is most likelly the best driver that drives assetto corsa, so no matter the track cut here, beating his laptimes with any car on any track is extremelly difficult. Anyway any track cuting and going off track to gain advantage in srs races could be protested.

I get what you are saying. The two drivers that I saw doing it were faster than I was everywhere on track, not just a couple corners. That is why I won't protest them as I really wasn't racing them.
But if I am racing someone who I think I could have passed or if they caused a collision which I think was avoidable if they kept 2 wheels on the track, then that is a different story.

I was just curious what the general consensus was about it. Now I know.

You can protest people you weren't racing or who weren't affecting your own race, btw. In case you think you can't.
