My very first SRS race
#31
It truly does, right? Big Grin

In the morning I raced for M2 series at Brands Hatch. I managed to find a steady and safe pace in this technical track. I find myself in the position of a driver too slow to fight for the upper positions, but a little faster than backmarkers. I always focus on avoiding dangerous movements and this time I'm quite satisfied of my overall performance in the race.

Yesterday I had a blast in the hour long race in the DTM series!
I love Alfa 155 and I kinda like Circuit Paul Ricard, so I had to join the event, hoping for some stability in my internet connection.
Ping was higher than usual (around the 150ms), but very stable so I didn't have issues and found a very comfortable and consistent pace.
My pist stop was longer than needed (I had to pee... Big Grin) and I miscalculated fuel usage, putting too much of it. So, the second part of the race I activated "recovery mode" and tried to push more (because of that, I made a couple mistakes). These long races are so rewarding, yet so exhausting! That's bad so many people bail before the chequered flag...
If anyone's interested, the footage of the race from my perspective is here: https://youtu.be/rVbwwbfTPrg
Have a nice week!

My crew was too fast. Or was I too slow?

This weekend began with a race on Assetto Corsa Competizione, the first one in the new GT4 series.
I picked Mercedes at Zolder, because I managed to find a comfortable and safe pace in practice, even if I wasn't as fast during the race.
After a unexpected qualifying session putting me on the first row (behind Simon, who did his lonely race), I had a very exciting and rewarding fight to keep my position against faster drivers.
I hope you enjoy the footage, have a nice weekend!

Yesterday race with Porsche 718 RS 60 has been so challenging and rewarding, I had so much fun on server 2, even with my mistakes!

Right hand drive cars are quite tricky for me, I often position myself in bad places and estimate poorly the size of the car, ending with the left wheels outside the track or missing the apex of the turns. For this reason, I made an experiment: what if I used the external view? This is today race at Donington with Ginetta GT4, a track I practiced in the last days a bit, but I'm not completely comfortable in. A good battle with a racer, the winner has been the one doing one less mistake.
I hope you enjoy the footage (you can find it here: https://youtu.be/Wzg1Q6DFDSs), have a nice weekend!

Hi Andrea!
I never saw a driver sitting on a race seat behind and above the car.
Imo, one has to decide if he is a sim racer or a fun racer/gamer. Imo always.

Right hand cars arent tricky, it is just that you are not used to them. In matter of fact on clockwise tracks one should use right hand cars, if available. Most of the turns are richt turns and you hit the appex easier.

About your driving, i cant tell much, i am working on it myself. Use all the track, therefore open the turns as wide as possible, you do that mostly but every inch counts.
Another think to maybe consider: As my mentor, the Great Sir "copycat" Jackie Steward said:
Its not about how late you jump on the brakes, its about how early you are on the throttle". Just another way to say "slow in, fast out". Once one is on the throttle, you dont lift but accelerate. Maybe put markers for the points you actualy start to acclerate?

Thats my 2 cents
C ya on the track
