Track Limits on Red Bull Ring
#1
As I have seen in the latest F3 races faster latimes are possible if you break in the runoff area at Red Bull Ring in T1 and T2 especially. This is possible as you get no penalty.
Especially with the F1 race today I think this could be an issue as well.
Have there been any discussions about that before? Is it OK? Does it need to be reported?

Going by this post, it's protestable offense.

There was some discussion about RBR specifically. Admin didn't chime in on that, but from that post, it's pretty obvious IMO that you can protest any track cut that you think gives somebody an advantage.

Having witnessed some of the worst driving at Paul Ricard yesterday, how do you crash on the straightest widest part of any track?, I am also planing to protest some track limit stretching.

I was actually wondering about that myself. I've seen people abuse the entry to those corners every time I race there, but I've also seen a lot of race winners not do it. I wasn't sure if it was optional to take the cheater line or not, but I have no issue reporting people that use it now. Thanks for the clarification.

Only time I have thought about reporting track cutting is 1) if someone is obscenely faster than everyone else on the server not using it (I don't think you get much of an advantage in most cars on T1 of RBR) or 2) someone uses it while in traffic assuming others are going to let them back on the track. The latter I have seen. If you go off track and the guy right behind you doesn't... you just went off track so you don't get to own the apex anymore in my opinion. If you cause an accident, you bet it'll get protested.

Can anyone tell here, what are the actual track limits at RBR.
Is it when your laptime gets invalidated or how many wheel over which line?

Can you see the curbs and white line ? Smile those are the track limits, and you should keep at least 2 wheels on the track. So when someone goes every lap 2 metres extra wide that means he is clearly abusing track limits.

Hey, remember this post? Not only do people apparently do this nonsense at T1, but also 2 and 7! LOL. Yeah... this'll be a funny protest report. I would have been able to pass him had he not come from off track to stab at the apex over and over. He was in no way faster than I was even with all the offtrack shenanigans.
