In practice mode everything works fine but in race  sound is broken and fps drops. Half lap is fine, 2 laps broken and it's changeing in random moments. Other players have similar problem. Can you change this car?

maybe your PC is not so capable, original car skins are over 60MB (why when 1 color only) maybe it is making problems online for you

Holy shit. Wow, and the UV map for the car is extremely sub-optimal. I mean... look at all that empty space on a 4K texture:



You could probably down rez SKIN.dds in all of the default skin folders to a 1K texture, and down rez internal1.dds to a 512x texture, and you wouldn't notice the difference on track at all.

I raced this car for the first time last night... it was pretty pokey and somewhat boring. If I get around to painting this car, perhaps I'll release a "replacement skin pack" for the 3 default colors. No promises tho.

one thing i noticed on my skin too, when it was in original size (BIG)   colors on car was solid, nice looking yellow on my skin , plain white , black and blue , but on these downsized look like top paint is clear lack or metalic, by which it is done?

interesting that by rezizing the surface look different

This was pretty slapdash, really. Comparing a copy of the black skin to the one I resized, it's definitely a different shade of black. All I did was open the dds in Photoshop, image resize down to 1024x1024 from 4096x and saved it. Then zipped em up in a folder structure for easy install. Not sure why it would alter the COLOR quality. *shrug*

If anyone wants the old ones back, they'll have to reinstall the original mod, I suppose!

i wanted solve it o my skin (nice plain yellow) but the colos i weird after resize, i repainted the dowsized again but same werd surface

i too opened DDS resized in GNU adn exported so do not know whats the difference

In multiplayer races I get the same thing with this car. In practice when I'm playing alone I don't have any issues.

I'm pretty sure it's a resource issue like Michal said as I play on a crummy non-gaming laptop.

However, with other mods and kunos cars I haven't experienced this issue.

I'll give the 1k skins a shot too, thanks for taking the time to do that Russell.

I tried the 1k skins with AI race and I still get the same issues with the audio that I think are related to my inadequate laptop. Since I haven't run into this issue with other mods and kunos original cars does that mean this particulate mod is just not optimized well? I know nothing about skins or mods.
I am really enjoying driving the Peugeot in practice and I will be upgrading to an actual desktop this week so hopefully I'll be able to see some of you on the Tsukuba circuit.
