Running out of fuel = penalty?
#1
Does running out of fuel count as some sort of penalty or incident?

I wasn't able to finish due to running out of fuel so teleported back to the pits. It was already the last lap, but obviously it still showed in was on the final lap. I left because everyone was finishing the race.
Should I have driven out of the pits again and completed the lap to complete the race?

Yes, using the "warp to pits" sets you back to the beginning of the lap. The lap you were on when you ran out of fuel did not get counted.

I have done this to myself by accident by warping back "at the finish" to avoid incidents, only to realize that I hadn't actually completed the last lap. LOL

What kind of penalty do you mean? You will be ranked according to the number of laps you did as if you quit the race early.

I was just wondering if I would get some kind of penalty in terms of incident rating or for example if you fail to finish 3x you're banned for a month.

Nah, you get nothing of sorts. You'll just be a lap down because obviously last doesn't count if you don't cross the line.

As long as you do two laps, you don't get any penalty for quitting a race early or not finsihing it for whatever reason.

You only get a penalty (I think a two day suspension) when you sign up for a race but don't attend the race. You have to do at least two laps in a race or otherwise you'll get that penalty.

In case your computer crashes before the race starts and you miss the start, you can join the race later, do two laps and quit again to avoid getting a penalty.

Your result will be bad and you'll lose rating points, but you won't get a penalty for it.

I don't think a do-not-show penalty suspension exists. I've boned off and forgot I signed up for a late night race and went to bed early. I'm pretty sure I was able to race the next day. I just got a fat 0 for my champ score for the race.

True, I guess this was changed.

The regulation now says "Failing to complete the 2 laps will imply rating lost."
