Are you using Content Manager, Custom Shaders Patch, and SRS Skin together, and seeing the screen flash or freeze while downloading skins in practice?
- Open Content Manager.
- Go to Settings → Custom Shaders Patch → General Patch Settings
- Look under Developer settings (second section on page)
- UNCHECK Watch configs for changes
- UNCHECK Use partial reload for track and car configs
When enabled, these two settings allow CSP to reload changes to car and track configs during a session, without requiring a restart. However, something about SRS Skin also causes this "hot reload" process to briefly jump out of the session and back to the reload screen. By disabling these options, you should no longer see any screen flashing or freezing while SRS Skin is downloading.

I wonder if I was only get a few of the available skins in each race because CM users had turned off the skin app after uploading their skin?
It kinda makes sense that the same people who futz about with custom skins are the same types who will futz about with a 3rd party loader and CSP, after all.
I hope this means I get everyone's skins from now on. Good find Pasha.
EDIT: Actually this ^^^ makes no sense. Why aren't I getting all the skins?

Man, I'm glad you found this, Pasha, because I was THIS close to just disabling Custom Shader Patch entirely and take the performance hit.

There are a lot of reasons that someone's skin won't load, but the most common are:
- The skin is >10MB and SRS Skin refused to upload it.
- The player is using a skin with a name that doesn't match their own. (e.g. some other skin downloaded form RaceDepartment which they did not rename)
- The SRS Skin app "gave up" on them before their upload was complete.
- The player logged in to the server and began their skin upload after your app already downloaded everyone else's and believed it was finished.
None of these are bugs; in each case the app is functioning as designed.

I had that problem with the Chrevrette with some personal skins. I tried several times, also deleting those skins, but nothing happened. Totally white skin with an empty folder called "date" with some casual numbers following (for example, date1348948597). Also because the SRS app was saying that i was missing some skins just before the start of the race, so i couldn't restart AC.
I think that this is for the Internet ""speed"" of my area (less than 0.5 mb/s in download lol) or a problem with the app by my side.
