AC multiclass special events
#1
Hello everyone,
I think, if possible, adding special events, like a 2.4h of Le Mans, or a similar event, would be nice for the community.

No replies so I guess that people are not interested in this.

I was on the group of interested drivers too, but as David has written, we've posted about it several times and it seems it won't happen.

I'm not specialy interested in the muli class. but definitly in the longer races.

The 2.4h race seemed to work.

I quite like the idea of multiclass events and when it was tried 8 months ago.
Maybe not do them on a weekly basis but a season with few 1hour races and a final 2.4h at LeMans or Nordschleife would be super awsome.

I would prefer the LeMans track as there are a lot more opertunities for the faster cars to pass safely.

What was done was a race with LMP1 and GT3 on Road Atlanta and Algarve International Circuit. From my experience driving an LMP1 the lapping of GT3 cars was working really well since they were staying on racing line and you had to find the way around. This would totally work in Le Mans in my opinion.
On Nordschleife it would rather be GT3 vs GT4 cars where the speed difference is not that huge. Also I could live with only having GT3 at nords.

I would love a multi class race as well, and I would guess that a 1h race would attract more members than a longer one.

These events are fun to drive but exceedingly difficult to run, especially if we try to tie them into SRS official scoring.

But yeah I'd be in if we do it again. Big Grin

I don't like to make comments about a software that I don't know, I know that things are always more difficult than it seems from outside, but I'm too curious. Assuming that the system reads the results from a text file that the server creates, can't you just preprocess the file to split the results into two files (one per class) and then let your software process those files as two different championships?
