Public Service Announcement: Warp to Pits After Race!
#1
Did you know that incidents count after you cross the finish line? Not everyone does! Clearly!
So while I know that the knuckle heads that actually should read this probably don't look at the forums at all, I'm going to post this anyway in case anyone else doesn't know about this trick to avoid the post-race carnage. I, myself, didn't know this until resident America Youtuber Host Pasha Patterson (aka zerobandwidth) showed me how to do it on his stream a week ago or so.
It's easy!
  1. Download and install Content Manager for Assetto Corsa (if you haven't already... why haven't you already?!)
  2. Go to Settings>Assetto Corsa>Controls>System>Teleport To Pits
  3. Assign a button that is easy to reach as you drive across the finish line.
  4. When you cross the finish line (and the game definitely says "RACE OVER" for you at the top of the screen), hit the button!
That's it!

Does this insist that you have stopped, like the ESC key does?

Nope! It is immediate, and wonderful. It's apparently some hack that Content Manager does through its Black Majicks. I use it not only to get out of the way after a race, but also in the event that I'm about to put my car into someone else during Qualifying.

Follow-up tip: To reiterate, make sure you're actually done with the race when you do this, instead of skipping the final lap, like I did to myself twice last season. Big Grin

@Pasha Big Grin Big Grin  I'm bound to do this at some point.

My last 1hour race the dog knocked over my keyboard an changed my selected pit stop choice, so when I stopped in the pits nothing happened.  With not enough fuel to do an extra lap I warped back to the pits, took the time penalty and off I went.  Then realised I did not have enough fuel to finish the race.  As I was sorting this out and about to stop I went over the finish line and was disqualified for not stopping in the pit window Big Grin   These things happen.

Top 2 drivers from the Skippy race just now could have done with using the Teleport to Pits. For some reason 2nd thought it'd be cool to smack into 1st right across the finish line! Oopsie!

What a disaster that start was, all due to one driver who probably thinks he had some kind of heroic start.

When I went to get going again I tapped the downshift paddle a few times without knowing that it would put me in R (while moving forward) which blew my engine, so I had to teleport to pits and gave me something like a 500 second penalty LOL!.

Dunno if the time penalty was for the blown engine or the teleport though. Maybe should just start from the pits next time.

This has been a massive incident saver for me. Both when i've made a mistake to stop taking out the whole field and avoiding the idiots.
