Skip Barber - Summit Point track cutting
#1
Hello,

I want just to report a kind of issue in the Summit Point track.

Tonight during the Skip Barber race some people had cut completely the "hairpin" part of the track (for more than one lap) and it seems they didn't afflict any kind of penalty (go to see the best lap in 1'17" how is made).

I noticed this because I was loosing positions but nobody pass me on track, and then, after one lap, I saw the car cut on the grass again.

Just report everybody you see do it. They'll probably get long suspension. I did 4 races there, and everybody was playing nice and fair, but abusing track exploits was already addressed here:

I think it's safe to say that the top two times for Fastest Laps on the leaderboard right now may be guilty of cutting. Is it physically possible to get lower than a 1:20? Big Grin

I agree that cutting deliberately should be penalised without question, however on that particular hairpin if you overcook that left hand corner and end up on the grass it's a relatively short and safe trip in a straight line across the hairpin and back to the track.
If you try to turn around on the grass in the skip barber it's like being on ice, it's practically impossible to get back onto the hairpin cleanly.  This is probably why you're seeing so much cutting here, but obviously it needs to be penalised in a race and not count for qualifying laps.

From: the guy who overcooks it and messes up that hairpin constantly.  Confused

Its not a problem when someone misses the corner and decides that its safer to return to track on the other side, but he should wait to loose all the time gained (about 8 sec) and not that he misses the corner at p10 and returns to track as p1 and continues like nothing happened.
