Assetto Corsa Skin Transfer App V1.1
Join a new competition? What do you mean? I have joined several times since I had updated the skin since it was a minimum of 3 connections!
Is it possible that I made a mistake on skin and did not appear? I use GIMP

Zip up your skin's directory and attach it to your post above and I'll see what it looks like on my computer.

If it is anything up to CS6, you want to google "nvidia photoshop plugin" and install either the 32bit or 64bit version of the plugin depending on what your Photoshop is. If you are on the latest Photoshop (Creative Cloud or CC), then you may need to instead use the Intel Texture Works plugin to get DDSs out of it. Google "intel photoshop dds plugin". They both pretty much do the same things. If you have Photoshop, there is like no reason you should be using GIMP.

installed the plugin - it works - GREAT
I have a short question - my GIMP dds had aprox 4mb
my CS5 dds 5,5 - not sure if that works with SRS
Can you help me to get the filesize reduced - any save-as settings I need to do?

Many Thanks
Peter

You can usually knock out a bit of size for a basic body skin file by looking at the alpha channel to confirm that you don't actually need it, and then deleting it. Then export as the usual DTX5 setting. I'm not at home right now so I can't get to the Intel settings I use, but I haven't had any problems getting my more recent skins down under 10MB total.

The other thing you can do is skimp on image size. For body skins, I don't bother with more than 2048x2048. Lots of stock wheels come in 1024x and bigger... you can likely get away with 512x or even 256x... especially any blur textures. Or even cheaper: simply don't have custom wheels. If the file is missing for any particular thing, it will default to what the base car uses... in some cases you won't even see a difference.

Hi SRS,
I can't see on track the customized skins, even when the server said "skins allready ".
What I have to do?

Thanks for this great job for simracing Wink

The second part says "hit the restart button". The "restart button" is only visible if you have the app actually visible on your screen, which you do not have to do. Basically you need to just leave the server and rejoin it. This is trivial if you are using Content Manager as when you quit a server the "end screen" dialog has a "Try Again" button on it, that automatically reconnects you to the last server you were on. I'm assuming with the stock AC interface, you would need to find the server in the Online list?

No, you just need to press the button, it automatically rejoins the server.

Good to know. So with Content Manager, hit that Try Again button. Otherwise, just make the skin app visible and hit that Restart button!

Any confirmation on the theory that you have to take part in two races for the skin to update ?
