Latency and/or ping
#1
Hi world,

As an inhabitant of the city of Buenos Aires (Arg) I suffer from a bad call ping.

The great proposals of Sim Racing are in distant servers in geographical terms

That's why ..... this proposal is interesting to me.

the question is :

How much does your experience in the Sim Racing world affect a high ping?

The drivers from the US and Europe.

Do they have good experience when they meet pilots from South America?

In synthesis ... How much does the problem called PING affect your experience?

cheers.

Man, Google translate is both amazing and ridiculous at the same time. Big Grin

From the Texas (south central US) I ping in the 20s for the North American server and about 140 to the server in Germany. I have zero problems with this ping and my connection is extremely stable.

The only drivers I ever see have issues are those from Australia/New Zealand or those from pretty much anywhere that happen to not have a stable Internet connection. You can have a 10ms ping but still teleport all over the place if your connection is poor or your computer is not capable of running Assetto Corsa with 22 other cars on the server. Pings over 350 however are probably going to suffer or cause other drivers to suffer since close racing may be very difficult with that big of a delay.

I know I've seen folks from South America have connection issues, but I couldn't tell you if it was the NA server or the EU server they were on.

At the evening in Europe there are not so many drivers from America continent, but sometimes I share split with some, and US drivers too, and never had a problem related to ping. I see their names painted in red letters and I try to be cautious but I never had a weird mess caused by ping, at least from my eyes. For example, yesterday I had a problem but it was a German driver: he was in front of me and his car dissapeared along half a lap and suddenly reappeared in front of me at theNurburg straight.
