After a not very enjoyable first race at Monza (T1 pile-up, nowhere to go, punted in the back, punted later on, etc.), I decided not to qualify for my second race so I could start at the back and not get caught up in accidents. Monza's chicanes are so unforgiving when there are lots of cars in a small space. Even so, I only just managed to miss two massive crashes in the first lap and ended halfway up the field by lap 2.
But then I had a great battle with Jim Gorman - who, I've just noticed, started this thread - to the end of the race. So I experienced the worst and best of simracing in close succession and have decided that the best makes it all worthwhile.
