Btw, is there an issue with uploading custom skins for Ginetta (g55 or supercup) ? Have you guys succeeded in uploading one for these series ?
Each time, for each race I take part in, the app uploads my skin (and says my skin is ok), but can't see it in broadcasts (or other racers')
And ditto the next race : skins uploading again (even if I didn't update it). Seems none of other players' custom skins are downloaded on my machine either.
(fyi, I upload them while in a local practice session on my computer 5min before the time limit, it worked with the other series)
Thought it was a size issue (9.7mo that i reduced to 8.6mo), but nope.
On my computer, it's located on :
assettocorsa\content\cars\ginetta_gt4_supercup\skins\paul_hirigoyen
and i can use it with no problem on local sessions (and see it in replays).
It seems OK with others series though (Exos , Tatuus, AE86 for example : I can see mine and other racers skins on the skins folder and in broadcasts).
Not the end of the world, but i'm starting to like making liveries (just started making them because of this very new feature on SRS).
And I love the car !

I too am trying to make my first skin for the GT3 Z4. I've read all the "woes" here in this post and I think I'm going to be able to download and install the "skin transfer app" correctly.
I will have to try all the uploading process the next race I try. I'm new here and have only tried 2 races so far, and my router was acting up and dropped me out of both before the finish sadly (2mins before the end of the 1hr Sarthe race Saturday and 7~8Laps into the 1hr Daytona race Sunday).
By the way, is it customary/ok/acceptable to rejoin a server and continue to compete, or if nothing else, just watch the race if something like that happens (a disconnect)? Obviously, you would have to respect those who didn't loose connection and are on the lead lap or ahead of you, by making sure you got out of the way for the leaders, but...
I was wondering if this was frowned upon or allowed. (Probably the wrong place to ask this question but killing 2 Different Posts with 1 Post )
I guess I should get back on track with the topic at hand.... What I am concerned with is the limit requirement for skin size. I don't know how big mine will be (haven't been paying much attention to the size of the files) since I'm just cutting teeth on actually making the skin.
"IF" my skin folder is too big when the time comes for an upload, can someone share how they go about downsizing their files so to not exceed the limit???
Again, I may be overthinking this and not even need this info (I'm currently at work right now and not on HOME PC to look at file sizes at the moment). I just have it figured that if it can go wrong for me, it will. If a folder can contain more than allowed, I'll end up being "In That Boat" if you know what I mean.
Respectfully..... Stan Donit

Nothing stops you from rejoining but you must realize you won't be on the same lap as the others and must respect that.
Regarding skin size, if you save the dds files as dxt3 or dtx1 instead of dtx5 it will be bellow 10 MB.

Thanks for the reply.
Yes I understand race etiquette. That's why in my post, I acknowledged the fact that you'd have to get out of the way a lot more if you rejoined. You would be behind everyone who didn't disconnect. I was just wondering if it was allowed or frowned upon. Thanks for clearing that up.
Also, thanks for the info on save format for the skins. I came home and looked at my skin file. Its barely 6mb.
Thanks Again.

É possível atualizar a pintura? Criei uma nova pintura e substitui na pasta, pelo app mostra que foi atualizado, mas nas transmissões continua a pintura antiga. O que estou fazendo de errado?

This feature has been so cool.... I've started creating my own skins now and have also made a skin for another friend in the process.
So so easy once everything is installed and in the correct places.
Wait for the SRS session to begin you've signed up for (QUIT button changes to Please Wait), leave SRS and go into a practice session for the track you're about to race using the skin you want to race with, and it uploads your skin automatically. It even tells if things are OK (audible or visual if app is open and on screen). Exit that practice session once your skin is uploaded and then JOIN the actual SRS race. Once in that session, the app will find and download other skins. Once they are downloaded, the app tells you to click the Restart button that appears on the Downloader Block (can open this from the side app bar like all other apps). You click Restart, the app restarts you and you're good to go.
I am also still saving my DDS file as DXT5 and the size has not yet been a problem for me. Will use DTX3 in the future if this ever becomes a problem.
I cannot find the templates for the helmet, suit, crew, etc. so I only have the one file I'm editing for the car.
So nice. Has brought a new lvl to the racing experience for me. Thanks for the hard work. Keep it up.
