I'd only been simracing a few weeks before I found SRS, and I'm still not the fastest by a long way. SRS is way way cleaner than a public server, it really got me hooked on simracing. Although I've been pole axed a couple of times, usually it's easy to avoid crashes and keep an eye out for too much aggression. Nothing as satisfying as giving up a place to avoid a muppet, then watch them lose it on the next corner.
After races where I'm sure I've been taken out and am eager to watch the replay to vent against another driver, often it turns out to be 50/50 or at least understandable. Good to learn from other people's mistakes as well as my own.
Racing in the same series, I get a feel for which drivers I trust and which ones I don't.
If you have a consistently high incident count, it's probably you.
