Ones that I've heard,

"Cold tires"

and

"get out of the way of faster drivers"

first one is Usually said kinda half-baked sometimes hilariously but the second one is a terrible excuse in most cases, to justify the person's fault at hitting you from the rear or cutting you off. GT Sport especially.

Oh yeah the setup excuse is great lol, totally the first thing that comes to mind.
