Get a Free* Custom Livery for Your Next Race! ON EXTENDED HIATUS!
#1
Essobie's Free Livery Shop is on EXTENDED HIATUS!
Thanks for the interest, but until further notice, this service is closed. Too much going on in Real Life for me to be bumping around in Mudbox/Photoshop for the lot of you hard core simmers.

Until I decide to re-open for business, please take a look at my Youtube Series where I paint many of these cars using Mudbox and Photoshop! See you soon!

Here's all the skins I've done for AC to date:

Thanks, Michael!

Still no takers currently. To be honest, I'm a bit slammed at real life work this week, but my hope is that by the weekend I'll have a number of hours to spare for this endeavor.

I wonder if literally no one reads this sub-forum but like 5 of us. Or Michael's opinion is an outlier! Big Grin

I think that's a pretty cool offer, Russel, might take you up on that. I've put AC aside for a while, too much work, but I'll get back to you on this.

Understandable. It would be quite annoying to pick a car to paint up and then not get to use it at all for the next 6 weeks! In the interim, I think I'm going to teach myself how to do some initial painting in Blender which SHOULD allow for designs that span multiple panels way WAY easier than are possible just painting in Photoshop like I do now.

Interesting, hadn't thought of using Blender. Looked at using Gimp, but that seems to be quite complicated due to issues handling the files.

I fumbled around for a good two hours last night trying to figure out how to paint onto multiple meshes imported into Blender, but my background is in Photoshop and Maya. Blender is very different from Maya in a lot of ways... even if you select the "Maya" controls.

I am now attempting to do the same in Mudbox which is also under the Autodesk umbrella, so there are a lot of similarities to Maya. But more importantly, there's a SOMEWHAT useful youtube tutorial HERE

I say somewhat useful because he does a few things the very hard way. For instance, there's a real easy way to mirror your painting so that whatever you paint on one side of the car shows up on the other side automatically. He's doing stuff like taking a screenshot to "help line up" a flipped copy of the image on the other side.

Hell, I might even do my own tutorial for how to go from nothing to something. The existing tutorials out there are a bit dated. No promises though.
