New member - and a question! - Andrew Clarke - 06-04-2020

Just thought I would introduce myself, and I had a bit of a questions.

I have have played Assetto Corsa for years but always found the online somewhat lacking. After cancelling my iracing subscription due to the cost I decided to try and find some proper online racing on AC and came across SRS.
Yesterday I did my first race in the 106 Rallye, when I signed up to the race there were 30+ clients registered which I was quite excited about.

However the race I was in end up just being 3 of us and really wasn't a race at all, what happened to the other 30 people?!

Hi Andrew, welcome to the mad house.

You will probably find that as a new racer your rating is low and so were put into the second server. The way the system works is that it fills the first server then any overflow goes into the second server and so on. The order that the servers are filled are based on rating and position in the series.

Hi Andrew,

There are up to 4 ranking based server splits. Each server can host a limited number of players, so if the number of registered players exceed the capability of server 1, according to the ranking they are splitted into server 2 (and 3 and 4 accordingly, if needed).
Take a look at Current Standings -> Races  and also at the regulation here:

Best,
Gianluca

Thanks for the replies both.

As a brand new SRS member my rating was 0 and I think I remember it saying I was in Server 4.

So it's as simple as do more races to get my rating up I guess!

The fact that you now have points in the series will help you move up the servers quite quickly in this series. This will also mean that you will be able to score more points as well.

One of the best things that I've found to inprove your rating is to keep it clean and avoid incidents like the plague.

Indeed, in the very early stages, the key to boost rating will be to simply avoid incidents and pick up a few safe positions each race. Over time if your incident average stays down and you keep beating a few higher-rated drivers each race, your own rating will go up quickly.
