incidents evaluation/ratio - Gianluca Roncaglia - 05-23-2020

Hi,
A question about incidents: in a race I had a slight but actual contact with another player. After the race I expected to see it in the stats but the incidents counter read 0.
Are there then some kind of contacts that doesn't count as incidents? I assumed that every single contact, even the slightest, would.
Thanks,
Gianluca

As far as I know the incident data is provided by the game, there is no algorithm in the SRS side. At least in AC, not all incidents count the same (a single contact can be counted as 0,1,2.. incidents) and it might be different for each car, see this as example: https://www.simracingsystem.com/showthread.php?tid=6438

SO if someone hits you and you spin into someone else, it counts as your incident?

Like David said, AC decides if the contact is incident or not. Sometimes it is, sometimes it's not, and it's not unusual that one driver gets incident, and other doesn't.

Yup. And you'll probably get at least 2 incidents or even more (depending on how many times you hit the guy, or the game "thinks" you hit). You can protest the driver who's fault it was, and they'll get suspension, but your incidents will still stand.

Thanks for your replies. So I think that the ratio on evaluating contacts/incidents will still be a mystery Smile

I should definitely save the replay and submit protests then- way too many incidents with people in the Montreal leg of the Tatuus series.

RE: incidents evaluation/ratio - Russell Sobie - 05-24-2020

To be fair, there's one wall after the first chicane that likes to create a gravitational field and suck the back end of my car into it when I'm not ultra focused on getting the second apex. I hit that wall way more than I hit (or get hit) by other drivers... but that likely isn't the case for most drivers on this track.

RE: incidents evaluation/ratio - Henrik Kjellberg - 06-18-2020

New to Sim Racing but the incident data feels realy unfair. My goal is allways to ride clean and fair. I also think its better to give away a position if you feel the driver behind you is faster.
Todays race I got SIX incident"points". The race was insane.
I started in the middle of the pack of 23 drivers. and people around acted that it was a arcade game, bumbed the rear twice, got divebombed and pushed out of the track on a straight part of the track. Why should I got incident points for that because of others behaivior?

I was guilty for one incident, a side by side battle in a tight corner. A light touch with no accident. So I may deserved one Incident point.

If I leave a Protest protocol and still have my "emberresed" incident data still in my profile...Argh, i feel bad about it.

You should get incident points for that because everyone gets incident points even when it's the other person's mistakes.

Why do you think you should be the exception?
