RE: Assetto Corsa Skin Transfer App V1.1 - Gordon Jacobson - 06-28-2018 Russell, Much Thanks!! RE: Assetto Corsa Skin Transfer App V1.1 - Russell Sobie - 09-18-2018 I recently watched a replay of the Audi TT Cup race from last night and it appears that at least one driver is still seeing my old Audi skin and not the new hotness. How does updating skins actually work on the client side for deciding when to update a skin? Will it only look to update a skin if there is a new folder to download? If the folder already exists for a driver, does the SRSSkin App just ignore the download? If the latter... how do I go about making my newer skin available to drivers? Will creating a new folder with a different folder name work? Is that even allowed? If so, what would I call it? russell_sobie2? I wonder if Rogerio Santos just hasn't seen my Audi on track since multiple seasons ago and he just needed to restart his client....? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TwjnNAHbYpQ What he sees: What he should see: RE: Assetto Corsa Skin Transfer App V1.1 - Russell Sobie - 09-18-2018 Apparently, SRSTV also still has the old skin. It has the correct livery.png for my avatar however. https://youtu.be/OjSuaNMAJEg?t=815 Edit: It appears that the new skin was identical in size to the old skin... but the livery.png was not. It appears the only check is done is file size comparison and not date modified/created? I'm testing this theory in the next 30 minutes... I added 4 rows of semicolons to the .dds for the skin file so it's a K bigger. RE: Assetto Corsa Skin Transfer App V1.1 - Russell Sobie - 09-19-2018 My trick did not work... SRSTV still sees the old Audi skin. https://youtu.be/QCHMsJ_lx-4?t=683 RE: Assetto Corsa Skin Transfer App V1.1 - Rob Russo - 09-19-2018 Yes, I have the same problem with a Mazda MX test-skin from 6 mos. ago. Still won't update... RE: Assetto Corsa Skin Transfer App V1.1 - Russell Sobie - 09-19-2018 Administration offered a solution here: http://www.simracingsystem.com/showthread.php?tid=4276 Basically you need to make a NEW folder to put your new textures in. I recommend just renaming your old folder to like rob_russo_oldAndBusted and then making a new folder and putting your new skin in that. RE: Assetto Corsa Skin Transfer App V1.1 - Rob Russo - 09-19-2018 Thanks, Russell, I did see that post so we'll see if it works out. [update] And it does! RE: Assetto Corsa Skin Transfer App V1.1 - Anton Zuev - 10-11-2018 I had a problem with skin transfer app, it didn't work, "skin transfer unavailable". And now i found out, that there is a standalone executable in a package, SRSskintransfer.exe, that was blocked by my firewall! I think you shoud mention about it in a instructions page, to add firewall exception for this application. RE: Assetto Corsa Skin Transfer App V1.1 - Michal Janak - 10-14-2018 where is problem, my skin for alfa TZ is about 6MB files are named right and my car is only yellow not like on preview picture, firstly i think thet there is problem with main dds file name (file suffix with big letters) , i made new drawer, copied all files, corected letters and there was skin was updated messagebut on YT stream again only yellow (from metal dds) wh the main skin dds file is ignored?
