My two cents is that I would very much like to see in every season (hourly sessions):

1. An easy, predictable, fixed-setup car with with which it is fun to race;

2. An open wheel car;

3. A difficult/quirky/wobbly thing for superhumans and lovers of a challenge.

There is plenty in all three categories, so it wouldn't be difficult to provide the desired variety.

Absolutely. That way most people would be happy and participation would probably go through the roof with time.

+1 for this

I agree with much of what was said but for me, I want a predictable car so 3 wouldnt be for me. I know the super fast and fast guys would like more of a challenge but for us mid/back fielders I want to be able to race and not cause silly crashes because the car did something weird that I wasn't expecting due to its strange handling. Fixed setups give close racing so I am all for that.

We still have the issue that in Europe there are tons of drivers whatever the formula. How do we get more US timezone racers?
Big fields are great for me because I get to run with other drivers of my ability in  a larger field so making up places is really rewarding. With 6 cars its not so much fun!

I would say that we already have those 3 as daily racers. It was just unlucky that this series those are 3 cars that not many people like. I hate Ford so I'm not even going to touch it, and I really don't like Seat. I could probably spend some time to learn it, but I can't be bothered with it. I really like Fulvia, and first week was awesome with clean drivers (or I've been extremely lucky with avoiding pile-ups), but this was a shitshow, to put it mildly, so I probably will give up that too. There's no point in racing if you're getting hit in the back, and/or front and collecting 5-10 incidents per race.

I wanted to try the Ford particularily because of it being in iRacing. It does drive very strange for a beginner`s car but I though what do I know,right? Then I come here and see that the thing is not the Spec Racer Ford from iRacing, so I wount touch it now.

Don`t let them ruin your experience, single them out and protest. SRS is too good to be overrun by trolls.

About FR cars like Seat TCR, my whole gripe with SRS is that RaceRoom does a much better job at FR cars, having the WTCC and WTCR series. SRS game titles really should not be overlapping one another in this regard, especially when content class is not comparable.

RE: Low attendance at races with ford spec racer - Ben Nash - 10-19-2019

I really wanted to love the Ford Spec, but I gave up after about 10 laps of testing. It wasn't a nice experience and I'll happily jump into anything from the little Tatuus to slithery, fire breathing old F1 cars. I just want respectful racing in enjoyable cars.

There are so many fun cars in AC. How hard can it be to have a simple series on daily rotation on classic tracks? The current selection leaves me feeling a little cold.

The most fun I've had in an SRS race was in a pretty basic Lotus Elise and also the Kunos BMW, Mercedes and Alfa touring cars. The most fun ever has been random lobby events in Toyota GT86s and the Kunos Escort at tracks like Laguna and Brands GP.

I'm really enjoying the DRM series, but the cars are a real handful and close racing only lasts for a handful of corners. I find the choices of tracks for the DRM cars hard to understand. Surely they demand flowing tracks like the fabulous Oesterreichring?

I'd love to see some retro touring car races in tin tops along the lines of Alfa GTAs, Escorts, the massive old Mercedes AMG 300 SEL 6.8 and maybe a similarly BOPed handful of cars like the 911 2.7 that's floating about on the forums. I've setup a few AI races and had so much fun with these wildly different, but similar lap times, cars. They shine on tracks like Spa 1988, Horsma and Mount Panorama.

Would there be a demand for Group C at Lemans?

Just my 2 pence worth.

We already had Group C at LeMans, those were really fun races. I'm sure we'll have that again some time Smile

Cool. Can't wait.

RE: Low attendance at races with ford spec racer - Ben Nash - 10-21-2019

Quick question.

Are we allowed to change the setup in the Ford Spec Racer for SRS races?

I just tried something and can do consistent 2 min laps at Okayama. Might give the race a go.

Cheers,

Ben
