There's a bit of cleanup required to deal with the "paintable" mesh in Mudbox which can be a bit bug-prone (Mudbox likes to crash when there are a ton of polygons in the scene, especially if you unpacked them with that wacky EXE and not using Content Manager). I might be able to clean it up for you and pack the result up somewhere if you like.

And then there's me doing the skins using paint.net.
I tried making a skin with Mudbox following Russell's tutorial (it's clear, but the problem is me) , but i need more, more and more practice.
One of the biggest problem are stripes, or other things covering more parts of the car

Mudbox does take some time to get your head around but once you do it's worth it. Massive time saver too so more time to race.
Not used paint.net but you can always give gimp a try which is another free one. www.gimp.org

I tried to use GIMP but i've more confidence with paint.net
Also because i started to do skins with it (around 2 years ago) and after so much time it's quite complicated to change

Stripes is easily the strong point of working in 3D. I made my Fulvia with the simple set of stripes down the driver position in about an hour... and most of that was me futzing around with where to put my logos. The stripes were probably done in about 15 minutes.

For the maserati gt4 race, I feel its a bit of a low effort but its blue and yellow and have teeth so Im gonna call it good enough for now.

This is the first skin I made in Mudbox, I always used solely photoshop before this. For some reason that I haven't figured out yet is that most of my stencils end up being a low quality. I really liked the theme of my last skin so I used that again. Still haven't raced this week hahaha. Thanks Russell for making the youtube videos and the tutorials about Mudbox. They really helped me!

They look really cool. Especially the custom names an flags on thr side window. It looks like you have no Ambient Oclusion layer active. Is this the case?
