RE: Show us your liveries for next season. - Russell Sobie - 03-02-2019 I've been slacking off the last few seasons, and to get some of the rust off I did a quick Dallara F317 livery. This one is a pain because you really have to compromise quality to get the whole thing under 10MB. I ended up having to leave the secondary skin file at 2k (as that's where most of the logos are) and dropping the primary down to 1k... which I NEVER do. Anyway... hopefully the jaggies will be impossible to see while going this fast. Also there's a timelapse video to go with... so you can see just how back-asswords I did the patterning inversion. RE: Show us your liveries for next season. - Fr.dr.k S.d.rst.dt - 03-02-2019 Looks pretty cool. Working with mudbox(?) looks pretty neat specially with laying out the stripes and all the logos. And i wouldnt worry about the jaggies, with the dallara i think everyone is trying to keep the car on the road than admiring someones paintjob RE: Show us your liveries for next season. - Michael Martin - 03-03-2019 That front bumper is great. Just don't bite my arse! Love watching your videos. I've not had a chance to try the reverse logo arse about face logo adjustment. Only use photo elements10 which is a bit old to transfer mudbox into. I just use the mirror x and add another layer to get the placement right. I've not done much skinning so far. Been busy, shock horror RACING LOL Done a few of the team skins. Tweaked The Stigs ride so not all my own work. And of course sorted the skin police out. And i didn't even cheat lining up the BWM badge. Was done the old fashioned way in 2d. Going to get a few more team skins done tomorrow and i might even do something original for the Lambo. Loving that series RE: Show us your liveries for next season. - Russell Sobie - 03-05-2019 Here's my entry for the Sim-Force vs Just Jean series. Nothing particularly amazing, but I like the look of it (once again avoiding BRIGHT RED because Ferrari): RE: Show us your liveries for next season. - Borre Verdoes - 03-05-2019 I like it! RE: Show us your liveries for next season. - Michael Martin - 03-05-2019 Sometimes the simplest of designs look the best RE: Show us your liveries for next season. - Michael Martin - 03-14-2019 Decided to have a mess about with the tools in Mudbox. No real aim just went with it. Missed a few areas on the inner faces. Most racecar liveries are a bit alike: a few stripes, a car number and some sponsors. But this is simracing, we don't have to follow the rules of real life race series. We can put virtually anything (two-dimensional) we like on our cars. Why not make something crazy? The default skins for the Porsche 911 RSR 2017 all look the same, with minimal differences. So I decided to I wanted my skin to be completely different. Made this in the last 15 min before the race: It's not very polished, but when all the other cars look the same, this will definitely catch the eye! RE: Show us your liveries for next season. - Russell Sobie - 03-15-2019 There's something to be said about standing out, for sure, but it's also fun to try to make your simulation race car look like a real race car. I'd say the vast majority of the liveries I've made are more on the race car look, but the few that I like the best that I've done are typically the wackier ones. How much time did you spend on the Audi? Seems like a lot of work to paint all those shapes. The bottom-left car makes me think of this skin (not mine): |
