Ran an AudiTT race with no problems at all, tried a WTCC17 race after and it refuses to let me join server and have no idea what the password is, any ideas?

what happens when it tries to connect?
Do you use content detection?

The same for me
i clicked join then RRE starts to the menu.
no connection to the server (and when i manual click the server then he aks for a PW)

Yes and everything is OK
when I register in assetto for a race, i can connect directly to the server without a password.
e.g. if i need to restart the game

the apps work differently.
Please try this: remove content detection, restart the app but make sure you have the track/car/skin

Just tested the DTM race and it all went just fine. With content checking enabled. Good job H & L &team!!!!
Update: entered the Audi TT and... 5 minutes in... slight touch on the rear left... hitted the wall... DNF cause engine failure... so mad... sh...t...
