Yes.

To be more specific, you'll have to join with the normal serve r browser, rather than the Join button in the SRS app. Just search for the string "simracingsystem" and you'll be able to see servers in progress, one of which you will be able to join (the one you were assigned to at registration).

Um, yeah, so how does SRS protect itself from including random people on the server? Back when I didn`t know what SRS was, I entered server with ongoing Mazda race and wasn`t kicked.

I think the back end of SRS does registration for your particular client (which is why you have to be in the app to register?). If you aren't registered correctly, you won't be able to join that server. My guess is that you happened to join one of the player-run practice servers that simply duplicate the SRS setup for a particular series so that people can practice together in multiplayer outside of official SRS races. Do you remember exactly what the name of the server was that you crashed before?

I think it might be time for this FAQ or something like it becomes part of the official website, and is sent out as an announcement via email to all members. No one that is troublesome reads these forums... maybe they'll read their email. I just watched some donut celebration after a race and they just plowed into 2nd and 3rd. As stated in the FAQ on page 1, Incidents count during AND AFTER the race is over for you and others.

A whole lot of information contained in this thread is what I like to call "arcane knowledge" in that the only way you find it out is through experimentation or diligent research (like reading the forums). It should not be this difficult* for new drivers to understand some of the nuances of SimRacingSystem, and I implore SRSAdmin to consider updating the website in some fashion to include and/or correct the knowledge listed in this thread (and in a few other threads throughout the forums).

I'm guessing that native speakers of various languages would be happy to create translated versions of this information in the interest of the entire community.

*Is reading these forums difficult? No, it isn't. But I'm guessing that the vast majority of people who sign up on this website don't even know these forums exist. And if they did, they probably assume they are an abandoned shit hole like most other community forums for various games. Pretty safe assumption, in my experience... but luckily these forums are quite well behaved and informative. Now if we could point new users here, we would all reap the rewards!

I've tried connecting before on SRS and it would kick me because obviously I was not registered on SRS nor for the race.
There indeed are sometimes confusingly similar servers that are regular public/private servers for practice.

What does SP column mean in the race results? Precisely, no guessing. As right now I cannot see any use for that column certainly not without a precise knowledge of what it actually represents.

SP ` worthy of an FAQ entry, I've seen how many pots now asking that. Of course, they appropriately misname their thread title... LOL

Maybe SRS didn't plan on any certain driver winning every single race he/she enters. SRS app promotes as many drivers that can fit on the grid at all times no matter how many times you win it so it becomes a battle of how many times can you win and the SP would help break the tie, but if you win every time, there is no point.
