I concur this method. 

This normally happens when i'm doing some practice before a race i've registered for...


Example:

Doing Hotlaps at Montreal in Tatuus FA-01 for 10 minutes or so. I then hear the "PING" to let me know the race is ready to join... Escape out, then click Join... Above message appears.
I simply just close CM, and then re-open after 5 seconds or so... Click join again, then all is well.
