R3E DTM results
#1
Hello everyone,

Today I've finished my first DTM race with this great platform. I really enjoyed it -despite I crossed the line 6th from 13.
The guys were absolutely gentlemen especially Daniel Ballesta, and of course everyone else. No contacts (my cleanest race ever), no dangerous returns.

But my joy wasn't endless. After the chequered flag I returned to the pits (with esc) and the results Showed I finished 11 -moreover it's DNF. I don't know, what happened? It doesn't really matter I enjoyed it either way, but I would like to know what caused this?

I should have gone to the pits for a pit stop? But nobody did -as I noticed. Or get back with esc? But the race's ended.

Please somebody explain me what happened. Smile

You normally don't have to press ESC at the end of the race. You just finish the current lap and the game takes care of everything Smile

It's a good idea to pull over safely to 0 speed and teleport to pits, however. Incidents DO count after you cross the finish line, so letting other drivers plow into you afterwards is going to be disappointing to your point total.

No Russel, in R3E when the race end you get "kicked" out of the car and moved to the TV camera POV, while following your own car now driven by an AI that will cruise it back to the pits, no post race incidents to worry about...

This was your first race in SRS, but I assume not your first in Raceroom, right? In this case you shouldn't have teleported back to the pits on the last lap thinking the race was over...
The DTM races have no mandatory pit stops, you sure you haden't a drive through for not serving a slowdown? This is the only other reason I can think of...
Next time don't quit the server early but wait for the in game standings to show up; it's wierd, you shouldn't be penalized for quitting early, but... you never know...

Ah yeah... I didn't connect the subject of the thread with what was being discussed (AC's have a DTM series this season as well). The above seems like a much better system than AC has, for sure.

Thanks both of you for the answers!

Russel, yes I know how post race Incidents work in AC -and I always try to avoid contacts during and after the race.

Lorenzo, I "returned" to raceroom after a long time. I might forgot that "kicking out" system.
I got 2 slowdown penalty but I served it immediately, so it was obviously my fault.

Is going to be easier to just show you; this is what happens when you cross the line of your final lap of a race in Raceroom (just the first hoster that I thought of): https://youtu.be/LsXVi4Vhpbk?t=8032
If you manually stopped and teleported back to pits, then you retired yourself, probably at the last lap
