No controls when I join a race!
#1
I just joined my first ever race on SRS and I had no input from my wheel and pedals. Both are band new so is there something I need to change in settings in order for them to work? I have no issues in any other modes so I don't understand what the issue is. Any help is appreciated.

Are you using Assetto Corsa's front end? Content Manager (recommended)? When you say "other modes" do you mean like, single player versus multiplayer/online? Have you tried joining an online server with the same results? If joining an SRS race is the only time that your controls don't work, perhaps record a video of your entire process of starting things up to give us a look? If that's not possible, a distinct list of exactly what you are doing to successfully join a multiplayer race (non-SRS) and still having controls work and exactly what you are doing when trying to join an SRS race. Such as:

  1. Start Assetto Corsa
  2. Click Drive.
  3. Click Online.
  4. ...
Etc..

I'm not sure what Assetto Corsa's front end is? Is it an app? I am using content manager. I am new to the PC side of things with AC so I'm trying to figure this out as I go. I have no issues with my with controls in practice mode and racing against the AI. I haven't tried regular multiplayer yet, just SRS. I will have to try that out and see if I have the same issue as in SRS.

Content Manager is what you use instead of the "Assetto Corsa Front End" which is the default game's interface for finding/starting games. So that's good.

That said, I think Content Manager allows you to set up different control schemes based on what you are doing, and an SRS join might be considered different than joining an Online race or something in the Single tab. Try joining something in the Online list and see if it is still borked. If that's the case, then somewhere in settings you have Content Manager picking the wrong control scheme for multiplayer racing.

Outside of that, I'd have to see what you are doing. Good luck!

Thanks for all your help and I will try again tomorrow and see what the issue is.

So if content manager is using different controls, then how do I fix it?

I was at work before, otherwise I'd have been specific. Here's what I was talking about:

I'd advise you hit that Remove button if you have any of these presets. If you don't have any presets, and you can play without issue in single player modes, then I don't know how to help. Download OBS and record a video of you trying to register and join an SRS race and post a link to it here.

Well I went to the setting like you posted above and there was no preset so that is not the issue. I tried out multiplayer and I have no input just like in SRS so I'm at a loss right now on what to do.

Check the controller settings in Control Manager and make sure it is actually pointing to your wheel/pedals and whatnot, and that pushing and turning them results in feedback in the UI inside Control Manager. I imagine that's probably all fine. You might try backing up/deleting your Assetto Corsa folder under your "My Documents" and reconfiguring everything from scratch.
