Not relevant the lap, that's a stupid move, no matter what lap it is.
Even if it was the last lap, and even if there is no accident, you can be exposed in the long straight after.
You are right not giving in to an idiot, if you do, he will keep doing it. If no one gives in, he will finally stop trying.
