Assetto Corsa - Base content series?
#11
Well I am at the very least relieved to know I must own all the content for AC to use this service, thank you.  I wish I had know before I spent an hour realizing it.  Such a pointless endeavor, this.

Pretty sure there was at least one post in this very thread that explained that there are at least a couple of series that do not require paid DLC to compete in. But if you want to just throw up your hands and miss out on the fun because something costs money, I guess that's your choice!

Russell, I'm not sure if you are insinuating I'm too poor to enjoy simracing, but thanks for pointing out there are races that don't require DLC to participate in, I did notice those.  Unfortunately, I am not a proper racing fan and don't enjoy driving any everything with four wheels.  There are a few cars and tracks, in specific combinations, that I like because they suit my skill set (RE: Tricycle on Sidewalk, downhill) and I've got quite a bit of practice with.  I'd rather skip the cars and circuits that I have no hope in piloting safely in a race situation (you're welcome) and stick to what I'm good* at.  I'm not going to begin practicing with cars I don't like on tracks I care for just to enjoy my free portion of SRS.

But your solution is for me to spend money on cars that I'll never use just to use the cars I already own so I can participate in a few races per month.  I'm fine not enjoying SRS.  I'm glad I discovered why I couldn't join a race.  All-in-all, it worked out even though I am a bit sad because I can't play with the cool kids.

Maybe someday you and I can trade paint Russell, but you'll have to wait until I'm a real fan and have spent the proper amount of money to be one.  Or randomly on a pleb server.

Peace

No worries, mang. I recommend keeping an eye on sales... you can easily get everything AC has to offer for DLC for like 25-30 bucks now if I recall... and you don't even have to get ALL of it. I only just now completed my collection with the "Tripl3 pack" since it was all the way down to 2 bucks at the last sale, but I know I'll never race in everything I own. Mostly I'm throwing some jingle at Kunos so they keep making sims I enjoy (and can mod the hell out of)... even if ACC isn't likely going to be that. Anyway, that's another thread!

As far as missing content goes, how is this information helpful to anyone, especially yellow stripes like me?  Undefined is my issue, it tells me nothing about what is actually missing other than it's a car.  Please observe the attachment, a snip of what I see when using Content Manager.  Clicking 'Download Required' takes me to a page listing all possible downloads, but again, nothing indicating what I actually need.  The other day, a GT3 race declared I had two undefined cars missing.  Today it's three.  The more I try the more frustrated I become.

Not sure why it's showing as undefined but I can tell you what those cars are... Ferrari 488 GT3, Porsche 911 GT3 R 2016 and Audi R8 LMS 2016.

The 'Download Required' button only takes you to free mods that are being used in certain series. The 3 cars you're missing are official DLC. 'The Red Pack', 'Porsche Pack 3' and the 'Ready 2 Race Pack' are the DLC's that contain those cars.
