Series start times
#1
Hello!

I am brand new to sim racing and SRS, I registered to the Simpit C7R series and was going to race Laguna Seca. States that the start time for the track is 7/20, 21:00 (im at a GMT -4), but today, 7/19, I looked and people have already raced and have lap times and stuff. I wasn't registered anymore either.  What happened? Thanks

Yeah...well the date is GMT time and your race time will be what you set in your account settings - in your case GMT-4. I guess the SRS folks didn't refine the scheduling quite enough! So the race date for this race for your location is the day before the calendar date shown on the race schedule. At least you have a shot at it tomorrow as it is a two day series.

Oh Okay I got it now. Thank you! Couldn't wrap my head around that fact it would be 1 AM GMT for the race with a -4 zone difference.

Gotta set your timezone on SRS web including DST, I don't think the DST works right. Then check. Or remember the UTC times and do conversion yourself but it does help to have it show correctly.

21:00 UTC with -4h shift is 17:00, not 1:00 next day that would have been +4h shift (Russia etc.).

Right now EU has to set +2h shift on SRS as DST setting seems to have no effect, so then watch out when DST changes and adjust settings again manually if needed.

I just recently got all this setup in content manager - very polished!
I expected to see more races? I'm only interested in road racing, seems there's only 15 series races, but they are very much spread out.
Registration anywhere from 18 minutes to 5 days.

Unless these series just keep repeating around the clock until the next series starts and the ones that are days out are just like a 'calendar' for people to plan while they focus on the series that are active in the immediate few hours?

Sorry if this is a silly question.

List only shows the next instance of a particular race in a particular series. The ones that are like every other hour you'll only see the next one of, for example.
