Yeah "divebombing" is attempting to start overlapping on the inside after the braking zone of the racing line (i.e. where the outside car is going to be). If a dive bomber is going to hit you, he's going to hit you. Likely even if you give them room, dive bombs by their nature are usually going to go well wider than the "inside line" and are going to hit you anyway. Only way to avoid it completely is if you somehow possibly understand it is going to happen and then purposefully keep going straight... assuming the track allows it. And then likely get a slow down penalty (I'm thinking of Monza T1 here btw).
