Russell, I don't disagree but maybe we're coming from different points of view here... from Wiktionary:

tryhard (plural tryhards)
(derogatory) A person usually of little talent who tries hard to succeed, especially through imitation, usually to gain fame or popularity.
So "try hard" to get as far up the leaderboard as posible out of t1, 'cos thats what matters, as opposed to having a good race...
I'd suggest your attitude is the opposite - as you say you don't drive like that, but take the game reasonably seriously, as it matters to all the other non try-hards, and so you don't go divebombing up the inside of t1 to try and gain a place. I put myself in the same category :-)
