Trackday videos

I've made a you tube channel for my trackdays in the mx5, had the car just over a year and is still stock apart from some decent pads. I'm getting coilovers fitted and some track tyres in a few months, watch this space   https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDZJB8m...eLqdSriQ8Q

You got any more track days planned this year Gavin?

I've just done my first one at Cadwell and can't wait to get back on track.

drove round cadwell for the first time the other week, so much fun. Watched your videos owen - that looked scary going into charlies. That's why I don't like bikes - in a car you can have a little skid or a lock up etc with not many problems, do that on a bike and most of the time you're off. I would definitely hurt myself badly if I were into bikes https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDZJB8m...subscriber

Did you try that combo (car/track) in any sim? If so, do the car behave similar?
What about the VR?

Many people talk about the Sims physics but I think that the only way to judge them is compare them to real life, and not many people can do it. It would be nice to see your opinion about it.

I love the place. Last time I was there was an MSV novice day that had cars and bikes (in different sessions) on the same day. Sitting in the clubhouse I'd flinch everytime cars went through Hall Bends from the sounds of their tyres screaming. Expecting it to be followed by a crashing sound each time ha. Hall Bends are lovely and flowy on a bike but all out violence in a car it seems.

You're lucky you don't have to go through the poxy chicane on the way to the mountain. Probably worst part of the track but you can see why they do it for the bikes for safety reasons. My bike is low powered (115 hp) compared to modern superbikes (180+ hp) but even still I was seeing 140mph down Park and the start finish straight.

Have you already started thinking about returning to Cadwell?

I had a go on ac for the first time since driving cadwell for real and have to see it is very realistic, it's been said before but the thing where the sims are let down is with the bumps in the road. My inputs are virtually the same in both real car and sim.

I'm going back to blyton park in a few weeks, will be interesting to see the difference uprated suspension and tyres will make to the car. maybe going to cadwell in october
