Porsche 911 RSR 2017 Liveries!
#11
Most designs I've been making for the Porsche's kind of break from the "sponsored cup" look like the Audi TT Cup has, where I've been sticking to the number plate pretty strictly.

And yes, it is 100x easier to do a lot of things in Mudbox as opposed to Photoshop alone. I just recently learned how to "Flatten in UV Space" in Mudbox that quickly lets me paint in Mudbox onto a flat 2d plane... so I can super quickly do a base paint color now, or do cleaner lines/stripes once I figure out where they are going to go on the 3d model.

I like how this one turned out, but holy shit I started over 4 times. I kept deciding to do the stripes using a different method. Eventually I just forced myself to get them all on there and then tweaked... rather than starting over a fifth time.

I hope you like it Maxim, because I don't think I can bring myself to open this file anymore! Big Grin

The Porsche's a popular choice among folks looking to look great out on the track, and this one is no different. Enjoy, Piotr! Please find your skin attached to this post!

Russell! Amazing job, love it! :Smile Can't wait to use it on the track.

Ps. Did't think that process of creation livery is so complicated and long. Wow.

Thank You!

I'd say 40% of the length of this one was me just trying to decide what I thought would look cool on a green Porsche and then figuring out a way to do it easily. I also had a number of mishaps where I lost something I had done already (like the number on the top) or where I did something the wrong way (numbers on the doors). But, like all of the cars I've done so far, a learning experience! The biggest lesson was that I shouldn't attempt to go back and forth between 4k and 2k textures. From now on I'm going to work in 4K all the way up until the point at which I'm going to zip it up and put it on the forums.

Glad you like it!
