Lotus 25 Championship
#21
Jim Clark made his reputation in the Lotus 25. 14 GP wins, one championship (1963). He should have gotten the GP Championship in 1962 driving one, but suffered an engine failure.

It's lack of power makes it hard to drive quickly. If you can win in this car, you should be able to win in almost anything.

There are a lot of vids on Youtube about Clark and the Lotus 25.

I'd love to do the Maserati 250F. It has even less grip and more torque than the 25 but it is more stable, being a long front-engined car. It takes a while to figure out to drive the 250F, but once you get it, it's just beautiful.

Another great one is the Lola T70 you can get on Racedepartment.

I'd also love to race the 250 GTO, Porsche 718, Cobra, 330 P4, etc.

Wings and slicks just make me sleepy. Smile

Yep, it is a great feeling to get "in the groove" with a car like this.

Being able to win or be highly competitive in something like the Lotus 25, definitely does not mean winning in almost anything imo Big Grin

I am always much more competitive in anything old / classic like that, than any new-fangled aero-ed up flappy paddle thingy.

Give me something old and so called "difficult" to drive and I will find it pretty easy to be quick(ish). Give me a car that requires exact precision and not drifting etc, and I am always much further off the top guys pace.

And yes, I too wish one of the daily races would be something like this car, much better than stuff like that normally gets that slot.

This cracked me up. I am not a big fan of those things either. Yes I am old. Smile Have never owned a car without three pedals, and never will. Smile
