I've filed protests against people for cutting on Donington... usually because they cut and then ram right into me while I'm NOT cutting. I'm not above filing protests against people just doing it because "everyone else is doing it", but I'd rather not waste my time if this is seen as permissible by SRS Administration.
If this kind of blatant cutting is fine, then everyone should explicitly know it is fine so that everyone else can chop 2 seconds or whatever off their PB for this track. Otherwise, this should be protest-able nonsense that we should all be policing ourselves. My guess is that the goal of full automation of SRS in general means that this isn't something SRSAdmin wants to bother enforcing manually. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe third party mods to handle offtracks better than stock AC require not just the server but also all clients to install extra stuff, and that hasn't been on the table since I've been here. :\

That to me sounds like a massive waste of time. There's 1 obvious place on the track where you can cut, which is the chicane. However, if you cut through the gravel it actually will cost you time, so best to stay clear. There's actually quite a few tracks where track limits are not as much respected as others.
In turn 5 (I think) you can cut too, but your car will bounce wide. I'm not sure if cutting the track will pay off there. In racing you should go to the limits that a track allows. On some tracks, it means that the limits can be pushed a little bit. Donington may be one of them. However, on other tracks, like Le Mans for example, you will get a 'go below 35mph penalty' if you go slightly wide in quite a few corners. For me, track limits are where the game draws the limit. Some I agree with, some I don't. But if you choose not to accept those limits, fine. But then also accept that you'll be slower through some of these corners than others. I don't however, feel obligated to "police myself" and report others.
