Crew Chief is a spotter app that simulates a race engineer. It tells you about your lap times, the gap to the cars around you, when somebody crashes, the temperature of your tires, your fuel, etc.

I use it since quite some time now and it works incredibly good, but yesterday something happened that convinced me 100% about it.

I started somewhere at the front, messed up, and got stuck behind a way slower car for over a lap in 10th place – then Crew Chief told me:

"Come on, this is shit. Let’s make it less shit."

tried it myself but the damn thing would not recognize what i was saying, I don't know if i was my mic or my southern accent....lol

Must have app. I don't bother talking to him though... I just combed through all the settings and make him shut up about the things I don't care about (like who's winning the race? It's not me... so I can't be bothered!).

Yes, never tried that talking feature either.

I'm fine when he's keeping me updated when he wants :-)

I actually deactivated the ranting in Crewchief. Hearing "this is shit, you can do better this" when you've just fucked up and lost 10 positions had a special way of making me even more furious

Hah... yeah, I've considered that as well. It's especially bad since after I requested from the developer that he add "Russell" to the personalizations, he calls me out by name when he wants to berate me. Not to mention the frequent "RUUSSSSSUUUUULLL, you've cut the track! This lap won't count!"

I still love Jim, though. Even though he'd rather be chief for a much, much better driver.
