Just after Christmas, my Logitech G27 died.  Intermittently (a word auto mechanics HATE!!!), the steering would die in the middle of a corner.  Any corner it wanted. Trying to repair it in my old PVC chassis proved very frustrating and almost impossible ... so I tore EVERYTHING apart and started over.

I couldn't find any advice for my problem on the 'net, so I bought a whole new G27 to use as a known-good-unit to help diagnose my old stuff .... but just to take a break from trying to figure out the electrics, I bought some steel tubing, and with some odds and ends left over from other crazy old man projects ... I welded up a whole new rig.

Everything is now mounted securely.  I can get into and out of this thing a lot easier than my old one, which is important for an old guy.  It's on wheels if I have to move it around and everything is a LOT easier to access and work on.  I can now adjust:

1. The seat forward and back and the seat back angle.
2. The shifter height, forward and back, L & R.
3.  The steering wheel forward and back, height and angle.
4.  The pedals height, angle and forward and back.
5.  The screen forward and back, angle and height.

... and, as before, the steering wheel is from my old MGB race car.  The seat is from an MGB as well. I built everything around the dimensions of the MGB cockpit.

The electrical problem turned out that one of the potentiometers in the pedals had a short.

This morning, after 2 months, I assembled all of it and got it all running.  I've run over 30 laps and not had a problem.  

My next project will be adding load cells and etc. for the brake pedal.
