Skins for Ferrari F2004?
#1
I was just in a race with this car and was hoping to steal the .dds files from others who had custom skins so I could overlay my own on top of it, but apparently the SRS Skin app didn't successfully download any skins. All I have is a questionable template downloaded from RaceDepartment here: http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/...tes.17983/
And of course it does not include instructions; specifically it is missing what the name of the .dds file needs to be to paint the car! Anyone know?
I've also found that apparently extracting files from kn5 files is a big no-no over on RaceDepartment according to Kunos, so I haven't been able to find a way to get files out of their default skins either.
So in closing: Anyone know what the file name(s) for this car skins are? Anyone know a "legal" way to extract files from kn5 files?

Edit: Did some more research and found this: http://sim-garage.co.uk/3dsimed3-download/

20 day trial period, but it successfully let me dump all the textures into a folder for perusal. Now I can make a skin for this car I'll probably never race in again! Big Grin

I did some editing to the formula skin (first time! Smile but the skin app didn't work.. Tongue

Templates to almost all the cars can be found in directory assettocorsa/sdk/dev/skin_templates/ but F2004 was not there.

I found the F2004 skin themplate here:

You get photoshop psd files dds. I edited the files in Photoshop. If you want to open and save dds files in Photoshop, you need to install Nvidia Texture Tools:

That is a much better template than what was on Race Departement AND it has the actual filenames (that's really all I needed). Thanks!

I have done a skin and it works in single player and uploads successfully when I join SRS but it isn't showing in the YouTube feed. Not sure what the problem is.

It would look so much better with some different colours.

There was same kind of error in some other series, but the skins started working later on.
Yes it looks a bit boring when all the cars are look the same. I just changed the base color of the car Rolleyes
