Hey there.

Hi

The names Darren and I'm from the UK and have just got into Sim racing on the PC. I try and get on in the evenings as and when life allows. I've raced on console in Forza and various F1 games but this is the first time on PC with a wheel. (G29) At present I have Assetto Corsa, PC2 and Dirt Rally with AC being my go to game.

Now I'm a long way off racing in any of the competitions I've seen running here and have watched on YouTube. What I'd like to know is do you ever run competitions for complete novices? While it's great to put in the laps and learn the craft a competitive race every once in a while would be fun without feeling like I'm in the way of other better able sim racers.

Steam name is DazTroyer, feel free to add me. Looking forward to racing with some of you one day.  Big Grin

No official "novices only" races here. Technically they all are (no rating requirements on anything this season). I would advise you not join any races at all if you actually consider yourself a "complete novice". But in my experience anyone serious enough to make an account on a sim racing forum has at least turned a bunch of laps already.

Besides, getting passed is part of learning race craft, so don't worry about being slow, just worry about being clean, and you'll likely enjoy any SRS race experience.
