Yeah, I had a G27 for a long while and last year I did quite a bit of league racing where I used the H shifter and clutch. In some cars in some sims it is a substantial advantage to do things the hard way, but given that I'm relatively slow compared to people who are super serious about their sim racing, I would typically opt to remove as many variables while trying to drive perfect lines among other people. Besides... most video game clutches feel absolutely nothing like a real clutch (certainly not the one on the G27). It essentially just felt like pushing another button with a stupidly long throw for no real reason other than to gain a few revs per shift.
Since then I've upgraded to a T300 with an F1 wheel (dual pedals only and a great see-saw paddle shifter mechanism) and haven't looked back.
