Sometimes I see people say they cannot re-join an in-progress race if they DC or have to leave real quick.
Remember that you can search the online servers and find the server you were on.
Most people instantly think to type "SRS" but you need to type "simracingsytem" to find the server again.
Your particular server will have a number if you go to the pits and then to the chat tab.
You can see all the session info there on the left (grip lvl, TC/ABS allocations, fuel consumption, tire wear, etc.)
There will be a server name somewhere there as well... usually "simracingsystem#" with the pound sign being the number of your particular server.
I have started to pay closer attention to this lately since my DC issues have increased and I sometimes have to re-join.

Another tip would be to use Content Manager (http://assettocorsa.club/content-manager.html) as your launcher instead of the default launcher. When you quit out of a server, by default there is a dialog that comes up that shows you the "results" of the race you were just in along with a "Try Again" and a "Close" button. Hitting that Try Again will automatically attempt to rejoin the server you were just on. The turn around time for rejoining a server is like maybe 20 seconds tops using this method (which is super for getting all of those sweet, sweet custom skins via the SRSSkin app right before qualifying).
