Damage percent
#1
Hi!
I've noticed that the damage level is set at 60% for all the races I've taken part in. My question is: "Why not 100%"?
I assume the incident penalty, three points for each incident, is there to discourage people from hitting each other. Why not using the actual realistic in game penalty system, the actual real damage, to amplify this effect?
I love realistic racing, and that's one of the reasons why I drive Assetto Corsa, so I'd like to drive races at a 100% damage. If I hit someone and lose three points I am discouraged to do it again. If I hit someone and spoil my car, I'm also discouraged but in the natural realistic way already included in the game, so why not use it?
What do you guys think about it?
Thanks.

For realism, I'm sure it would be nice to have 100%, but then it would take just one small mistake from someone to cause many possible DNFs, probably mostly in open-wheels Wink You have a point, though.

It´s impossible to make everybody happy.
At first the damage was set to 100%, many complains to reduce it:

Oh, I see. Thank you Richard. I reviewed the thread and understood how it all happened. Did the damage system get any better in the meantime? I still find the cars too tough when crashing, but now I understand better the 60% decission. Thanks.
