Quote:I am compelled to express my frustration with the quality of racing in this Tatus Series. I have run seven races at Imola and only once have I not been punted off at the first corner, assuming I even get that far. Please chaps show some restraint, trying to win the race at turn 1 is just amateurish. Bah!

Yeah, I had a similar experience and stopped running that series completely.

Hah, I forgot about that video series. I think it's required viewing by everyone trying to race in sims.

There's a reason why more experienced sim racers don’t complain about those things.

Watch surviving rookies, it's done with iRacing and oval footage, but it 100% holds true to road racing as well:

I cannot agree with you completely. Nearly in every race on SRS I slow down into T1 when i see there is no room to go but someones from rear go into T1 like there is nobody and boom. As sooene here wrote, the only safe way is to by in front row and faster then ohers to not fall in trouble.

I raced many years in some leagues (GPL, Rfactor on HSO server)

edit: no protest discussion.... thought i could just ask because it is without any names and there are no examples given...

ok then if it is racing when i have to avoid the contact... then i won't try it the next time and just drive into him...

@russel sobie: yeah but i did not show the names on purpose because i don't wanna blame someone and i'm actually the only one using a custom skin there Wink

i'm just new to this system not simracing overall and in leagues it is handled much easier  Wink for example the t1 term after the start... do i have to report them everytime (it could be almost every race) when they overshoot their brake point or just let it be because they could be new?! would it help?!  this is the problem i got with reporting

Try naming your skin folder paul_stannigel. Isn´t it bigger than 10mb?

Just reminding you guys that incident discussions are forbidden ;-)

I just mention without any context that contact between cars is a regular part of racing *winkwink*

I'm not hip on the rule that NO incident discussions are allowed. In a lot of ways, that's how new sim racers find out what is kosher and what is not. And this looks like a case of "I don't know if I should protest these incidents... are these 'race incidents' or people being jerk bags?" From the video he isn't naming names* either, although I'm guessing it would be pretty easy to figure out who is who if you were in the race. Even more so if custom skins were involved. I know if someone records a video of me borking it up I'll be totally busted. Big Grin

I think it'd be helpful if the rule specified what kind of incident discussion is and is not allowed, and leeway given to those probing for guidance and not publicly calling out people for being poor drivers and/or sports.

I mean, is what I'm doing right now discussing race incidents? Or the SUBJECT of race incidents? Is my thread featuring the Surviving Rookies video discussing incidents?

*Paul, if you report incidents, you will need to show Driver Names (Ctrl+L in game) in your replay video for it to be valid... so the above video won't do. That said, I'm pretty sure a few of your situations are report-able.

So far, every time I have thought someone might be acting like a "jerk bag", subsequent review of the video or discussion via PM has shown that it was just "one of them racin deals".

That’s pretty much always the case, yes.

In 90% of the times I get hit in lap 1, there isn’t really anyone to blame. Most of the time it’s just a chain reaction of more or less regular incidents.

I agree with this, at least in previous tatuus champ it was the worst quality of drivers i've raced around here...
That is why i am not taking part this time..

And actually, after 4 years of assetto corsa, (public)formula servers indeed keep hosting the worst drivers in general..
