Expedited Protests for Wrecking/Revenge Incidents
#1
I think it'd be nice if there were a checkbox on the protest form for if the video shows obvious intentional poor sportsmanship offenses like wrecking or revenge. Whenever a video that has that box checked is submitted, it goes to the top of the queue for review. If the offense is deemed to be of the "insta-ban" variety, the ban is carried out. If the offense is NOT deemed to be worthy of protest, the reporter flagging it as such gets a nice week suspension for crying wolf, as it were.
I'd gladly risk a couple of weeks of racing to report folks that intentionally wreck others during a race so that I don't have to see them the following week (or ever, hopefully).

That would be a good addition to the protest form.

I like the idea, since wreckers and unstable mentally should be dealt with immediately imo. Not sure about the penalty, maybe a bit longer 10 or 14 days.

All the verdicts I've received for my reports of intentional wreckers and specifically the "revenge seekers" all seem to get a ban. It doesn't seem too harsh to me. Maybe a one year suspension would be better? Give them another 365 days to grow up a bit?

Maciek I think you misunderstood. 1 week penalty is proposed for a person falsely reporting a revenge incident, not for the person who did the revenge hit.

That person (Vettel ;-) ) would get a permanent ban or a very long ban.

I second this idea. With the system we have now, somebody could ruin other people's races for 6-8 weeks before they get a ban. Unless somebody decides to risk it and break a rule with posting incidents on forum. But maybe don't immediately suspend people who are "falsely" reporting others. Maybe give them a warning first. Something like "It's not wrecking, don't report cases like that in the future". I don't think that people deserve being suspended for making a bad judgement call. This way people won't miss a one off race because of that, but reporting everything as a big offense will still have consequences.

Regarding the people who are getting reported: screw them Big Grin Give them permaban or maybe 1 year. If they still want to come back after that just to get banned again, let them.

Yes, give them a chance to return. I`d say half of that is sufficient to make them think what they`ve done. And if I ever get the ban, I can return aswell.

Nah, I know what he said. The crux of the matter is that a week off is hardly a penalty. I often don`t race for a week or two from lack of time caused by life. So it`s hardly a stick for those who cry wolf.

A week off is enough to put you out of any running for any particular series, so it'd be good enough I think. But fine by me if it's a month or whatever. Bonus points for giving a first warning, but the idea here isn't to make life for administration MORE difficult (tracking who is and is not putting in BS protests and flagging them as important) but to make the roads safe as soon as possible for the rest of us.
